Balance has been 'under review' for eleven days and nobody has asked me for anything

I want to describe this carefully, because I think the shape of it matters more than the outcome.

On 21 September I loaded 2,400 EUR to Bleap in a single transfer, which is larger than my usual but not out of character; I had a hardware purchase to make. The load confirmed on chain and credited. Two days later the card declined at the merchant and the app showed the balance as under review. It has shown that ever since — eleven days as of this morning.

Support have responded twice, both times to say the review is with a partner and they cannot give a timeline. They have not asked me for a single document, which is the part I find odd; if this were source of funds they would have asked by now. Has anyone here come out the other side of this, and how long did it take?

Is not source of funds, is velocity. You do small small small then big, system see the big one and stop.

Anyway they not ask document because the partner ask nothing yet, Bleap is not the one holding, is the issuer behind. Eleven day is normal for this, i see three week also. You get it back, just not this month.

Three weeks from what — your own case or a story you read?

Two people I know have had the review on Bleap and both got the balance back — one in nine days, one in about three weeks. Neither was ever asked for a document either, which matches what you are describing.

The thing to know is that Bleap is full KYC with a bank partner behind it, so 'my funds are frozen' is slightly the wrong frame. Your identity is already verified with them; what is under review is the transaction, not you. That is usually the faster kind.

What I would not do is load anything else in the meantime. A second inbound while the first is in review is how a nine-day hold becomes a closed account.

That is a useful distinction and I had not made it. I have not loaded anything since and will not; thank you.

For what it is worth, the 2,400 was the first transfer above about 600 EUR I have made to them, so the velocity explanation fits neatly. I would gently note that nowhere in their onboarding is there a figure above which this happens, which makes it impossible to avoid deliberately.

11 days is brutal. Their cashback is great though

Every card with a bank partner has an invisible threshold, and it is invisible on purpose. Publishing it tells you exactly how to sit under it, which is the behaviour they are trying to detect.

So you cannot avoid this deliberately and you should stop trying. What you can do is not keep a balance you would miss on any single one of these. Eleven days of your money being unavailable is only a crisis if the money had somewhere to be on day three.

The cashback is great. The zero he can spend is less great.

Closing the loop, since I dislike threads that do not.

The balance was released on 24 October — thirty-three days, considerably longer than anyone here predicted, with no explanation and no document ever requested. The card has worked normally since. I have not loaded more than 500 EUR at a time and will not.

I would not describe the outcome as good, but nobody took anything, and I would rather be the data point than another unresolved thread.
