BPW won't quote a domain price without a VPS order — still how it works?

Trying to price a handful of names at BPW for a client who wants everything under one roof, and there is no price anywhere. Not on the domains page, not in the order flow, not in the FAQ. The about page hints that a domain comes free with some plans and that is the closest thing to a number on the site.

Ticket asking for a straight per-year figure got me a quote that is presumably valid for as long as they feel like it.

Is that still just how they operate, or am I looking at the wrong pages? I have been recommending against buying domains and hosting from the same shop for years anyway, so half of me wants to be told to stop trying.

Yes is still like this. Domain come free with some plan, alone they quote you in ticket. Price move.

The pricing is the less interesting half of your instinct. The other half is right and worth stating plainly.

Domain and box at the same operator is one account, one payment trail, one set of records and one process to serve. Split across two shops it is two, and the second one has no idea the first exists. That is not a small difference and it costs you nothing to arrange, because the registrar and the host do not need to know about each other.

Anonymous signup does not help here. The linkage you are creating is inside their billing system, where the anonymity you bought is not doing any work at all.

Paymeer and Webmoney at checkout in 2025. That tells you when this shop was built.

Went elsewhere in the end. The quote was not unreasonable, but a price that arrives in a ticket is a price that can arrive differently at renewal, and I am not putting a client's names somewhere I cannot forecast the cost of.

Names went to a shop with a published number and the box stayed where it was, which is what nullroute is saying anyway. Leaving this unsolved since the actual question — what does BPW charge for a domain — still has no public answer.
