Card dead, tier dropped, stake locked, and support will only say 'under restriction'

Numbers first, because the story is boring without them.

Staked for the Ruby tier in October, so $500 in CRO for the 180 days, on the basis that 3.5% back on roughly $1,800 a month of spend pays for itself several times over. It did — I have tracked $63 average monthly cashback against a $4.99 fee I never paid because the stake covers it.

On 2 February the card declined. Same day the app dropped me to the free tier, which is the documented behaviour for unstaking mid-period, except I did not unstake. The stake is still showing, still locked, and the 180 days are not up until April. Support have said the account is under restriction three times in four days and will not say what restriction or why.

So I am out a card, out the tier, and the stake is locked in a position I cannot exit. Has anyone had the restriction and the stake lock at the same time, and did the tier come back with the card or separately?

12 thanks

the stake is collateral. of course it doesn't move while they're looking at you

I have seen the restriction twice, both on other people's accounts, and in both the tier came back with the card and the stake was never actually at risk — it was locked because the account was locked, not because the stake was the subject.

The part that will annoy you: neither of them was told why, and both were asked for documents about a week in. If you have not been asked yet, expect it. Source of funds on the fiat side is the usual one, even when everything you deposited came in as crypto.

One thing worth checking now rather than in April — the 180 days keeps running during the restriction in both cases I know of. So the clock is not being paused as a punishment, which is the fear people usually have.

That is the specific answer I needed. Nothing requested yet, day six.

Second-hand twice is still second-hand. Anyone here had it themselves?

I have it in 2022, different reason maybe. For me was because i change country in profile, system not like this.

Anyway what they want is not document, is explanation. When they finally ask, answer short and boring. People write long story and this make it worse, i see this many time. Card come back for me after eighteen day, tier come back same day as card.

A note on the cashback figure, since you have tracked it so carefully.

The $63 a month is paid in CRO, not in currency, and it is received at the token price on the day. If the restriction resolves in April and you have been out of the market since February, the position you return to is not the position you left; you have neither earned nor lost, but the number you were tracking has been marked to something else in the meantime.

I mention it only because a tracked return of that quality deserves an accurate denominator. I am aware nobody here wants to hear it.

Nobody here wants to hear it. Correct.

The whole structure is the problem and the freeze is a symptom.

You locked $500 of a token you did not want, for 180 days, to buy a discount on your own spending, from a company that can revoke the discount unilaterally and has now revoked your access to the collateral as well. That is not a cashback programme. That is a deposit with extra steps.

The 6% headline needs $400k of CRO staked for 180 days. Everybody quotes it and approximately nobody is in it. What you were actually in was a 3.5% tier that costs $500 of exposure and can be switched off, and it just was.

It paid for itself in three months though! That's not nothing

It paid for itself right up until it did not. That is what 'can be switched off' means.

Day twelve. Documents requested yesterday, exactly as hana_v predicted and exactly the ones she named.

Day Event
0 Card declines, tier drops
1-4 'Under restriction', no detail
6 Ticket escalated, no change
11 Source of funds requested
12 Documents submitted

Stake still locked, still showing, 180-day clock still running as far as I can tell from the app. I will keep this updated because there is no other thread on this board that tracks the timeline rather than the anger.

My friend i follow this because is useful. Actually in Brazil this card work but the restriction here come more often, i think because the deposit come from local exchange and they don't like some of them.

One thing i notice, when they ask source of funds and you send exchange statement is fine, when you send screenshot of wallet is not fine. Same information, different result. Is stupid but is like this.
