A year on ExtraVM — post what happened when a complaint actually landed

Bumping with a small one. Renewed two boxes in April, price had not moved, checkout still had the full coin list, nobody asked me anything new.
The interesting thing is what did not happen. Every other category on this board has had its no-KYC option quietly grow a verification step in the last two years — the card shops, the gateways, the SMS people. Hosting has not, and I do not have a good theory as to why. Possibly because the regulator that cares about payments does not care about a virtual machine.
It has not happened yet. Nothing about the last two years suggests hosting is permanently exempt.
The pattern everywhere else has been the same: the payment rail gets regulated first, the service on top of it inherits the requirement second, and the shops that were crypto-only quietly grow a verification step in between. Hosting sits one layer further from the money, which buys it time rather than immunity.
Plan for the box you have today being a box you have to re-buy somewhere else in eighteen months.
Right — I can finally answer my own thread, which is the ending these things usually do not get.
A complaint landed on the Netherlands box on the 21st. Copyright, forwarded from a rightsholder agent, about a file on a client subdomain that should not have been public. ExtraVM sent it to me as a ticket with the original notice attached and a 48 hour window to respond. No suspension, no null route, no pre-emptive action of any kind. I pulled the file, replied to the ticket describing what I had done, and the ticket was closed the same day.
So the answer to the question I asked in January: they forward and they give you a window. They do not ignore, and they do not shoot first. That is the middle behaviour and honestly it is the behaviour I want from a host at this price — I would rather deal with a clock than with a host that terminates on receipt.
Worth being clear that this was a single, well-founded, easily-fixed complaint. It tells you nothing about what happens on the fourth one, or on a complaint you cannot resolve by deleting a file.
48 hours to respond or 48 hours to termination? Those are different letters.
That report is worth more than the rest of the thread combined and it lands exactly where I would have guessed, which is not the same as knowing.
For the record it also disproves the version of my own January post that people probably took away. I said pay the bulletproof premium if you generate complaints, and that is still right for the fourth complaint, but a host that forwards with a window rather than terminating on receipt is a materially better product than most of the cheap end. Plenty of forty-dollar shops null-route you first and read the ticket on Monday.
Still would not put anything I could not rebuild there. Depends what you're running, as ever.
Adding the July report to my notes with PipelineRat's name on it. Still the best thread on the board for this.
If a client needed roughly sixty of these standing at once, all crypto-funded, would that trip anything on their side — a per-account cap, a manual review, a payment flag?
ask them. nobody here is provisioning your client's sixty boxes
