$500 minimum to open the account. Has anyone ever seen that money again?

Source wants $500 up front to open the account and calls it a minimum deposit rather than a fee, which I notice is a distinction they were careful about.

Had almost this exact conversation in 2022 with a different source and that $500 is still sitting in a dashboard I can't log into. So before I do it again - has anyone here ever actually got a minimum deposit back out at the end? Not spent down, actually withdrawn?

Yes, twice, and both times it took a support ticket and about three weeks.

The condition both times was that the account had to be closed properly rather than just abandoned, and that there had to be no open invoice. If you go dormant they will hold it indefinitely and they are not obliged to tell you that.

So it's returnable, it just isn't automatic, and nobody sends you a reminder.

Get back is possible but only if you ask. They never offer.

Four sources, four deposits, over 2022-2024. Two refunded on request within a month, one credited against final spend instead of refunding cash, one never answered and I wrote it off at $250.

So three out of four in some form. That's a better rate than the thread title implies, but the one that vanished was the cheapest source with the best rates, which is not a coincidence.
