Posting while it is still unresolved because the numbers are the only useful part.

Card-to-crypto checkout, one offer, nutra-adjacent, disclosed as such at signup. Ran it from July.

Month Volume Chargebacks Ratio
Jul $18,400 2 0.31%
Aug $31,900 6 0.55%
Sep $44,200 13 0.90%
Oct (partial) $12,100 9 —

On 14 October the MCC was suspended on the account. Balance at suspension was $14,380. It is still there. Support answers inside a day and repeats the same sentence.

I am not asking how to get it back — I have read enough of these threads to know the answer to that. I want to know at what ratio the decision actually gets made, because nobody publishes it and everybody on this board claims to know it.

12 thanks

0.90 on nutra is not a number you survive. the acquirer had a file open on you in august, mate. october is just them being slow about it

You bolted card rails onto a business that settles in crypto and then acted surprised when the card side behaved like the card side.

The chargeback isn't a bug in the gateway. It's the entire reason that network exists and the reason anyone uses it.

Did the descriptor match the lander? Most of the ratio problems I have looked at were people not recognising the charge on a statement, not people disputing the product.

Descriptor matched, and it is the one variable I did test — changed it on 12 August and the ratio kept climbing through September regardless, so I would rule it out.

the acquirer had a file open on you in august

That is the part I am pushing back on. 0.65, 0.9, 1.0 — every one of those thresholds gets quoted on this board as if it were published, and I have never once seen a source for any of them. You are describing a number you cannot produce.

no acquirer publishes it. that doesn't make it not real, it makes it not published

you can be completely right about the sourcing and still not have your fourteen grand

For what it is worth, held funds are still your asset and they do not stop being income because you cannot reach them; if the balance is eventually released in a different period to the sales that generated it, the timing mismatch is yours to explain to someone.

I appreciate that is not the question and that it is not what anyone wants to read today. Keep every support reply anyway. A dated correspondence trail is the only thing that makes the position defensible if this drags into next year.
