is wirex still worth keeping or is it just coasting now

Had a Wirex card in my wallet since 2021 - genuinely the first one of these I ever used, back when the cashback was the reason anyone bothered.

Somewhere along the way the rewards quietly became a token-lock game and I stopped paying attention. Card still authorises, still no fees I can see, but I could not tell you what it is actually earning me any more.

Anyone still running it as their main card, or is it just the one that lives in the drawer now?

Works how. Post a decline rate or do not post.

It has not stopped working, it has stopped being interesting, which is a different complaint.

Tier Cost Cryptoback
Standard free 0.5% in WXT
Elite $29.99/mo up to 8% in WXT

Elite's eight percent needs seven and a half million WXT locked for a hundred and eighty days on top of the monthly. Nobody reading this is doing that.

What is still genuinely good: zero FX on every tier including the free one, two hundred dollars a month of free ATM, no annual or usage fees, and a hundred and thirty odd countries. US coverage is patchy and always has been. As a free card with no FX cut it earns its slot; as a rewards play it stopped mattering years ago.

You are quoting the pricing page. The eight percent tier has been advertised for years and I have never once seen a member here post a statement showing it paid out at that rate.

There is a difference between a number that requires a hard condition and a number that functionally does not exist. I think this one is the second.

I did not claim anyone reaches it. I said what the gate is and then said nobody clears it. That is the same point you are making with more indignation.

I run Standard and I measure Standard. Half a percent, paid, monthly, no drama.

Then the table should not have a row for it. Printing an unreachable number next to a reachable one is how this stuff spreads.

Still my backup card in APAC and it has never let me down at a physical terminal, which is more than I can say for two of the newer names.

Full KYC, mature product, long operating history — that last one counts for something in a category where half the brands are two years old. US availability is the known gap.

Actually here in Brazil is not an option my friend, so I read these threads like tourism. Is nice to know the free ATM is two hundred, I will never see it.

The drawer card. That is the whole review.

Six weeks on and I kept it - the free ATM allowance turned out to be the only reason, which is not what I expected when I opened this.

Pulled about a hundred and eighty a month in cash across two trips and paid nothing for it. Everything else it does, something newer does better.

Is anyone actually getting a better free-withdrawal number anywhere else, or is that genuinely the best on offer?
