Had a heavy week on the KAST card - a laptop, a flight and about two grand of ad spend across four days, call it three thousand all in. Everything authorised, no drama, I was quite pleased with myself.

Sunday night the card goes dead and the app puts a banner up asking me to re-verify and provide source of funds. I already did full KYC in January when I got it, passport and the selfie and all of it.

Submitted what they asked for on Monday. It is now Wednesday and the only reply is an autoresponder. There is about $1,400 left on the card and, more annoying, a SOL stake behind it that I cannot touch while the account is in this state.

Anyone been through the re-verify on this one? How long did it take you - and did the stake unlock at the same time as the card or later?

Was the ad spend on one platform or split? And did any of it get refunded?

Two platforms. One refund, about $180, came back the day before it went dead.

That is your trigger, or at least it is the first thing I would look at. A refund on a card that just tripled its normal velocity is the exact pattern their rules are written for.

Source of funds on this one is a real review, not a formality, and it is handled by people rather than by a rule, which is why the timing is so uneven.

What gets it moving fastest, from watching a few of these in the region: send the on-chain history for the wallet that funded the card, not a bank statement. They settle in USDC and SOL, so an exchange withdrawal record plus the deposit txids is the thing that actually satisfies the request. People send a payslip and then wait three weeks because it does not answer the question that was asked.

The stake is a separate object. In every case I have seen it stayed locked until the account came out of review, not until the card came back, and those are not the same day.

Ouch. But the cashback on that card is unreal, 15% is not a typo!! Worth a bit of friction

The fifteen is a typo in the sense that matters, which is that almost nobody is getting it.

Tier Advertised What it actually needs
Standard 2-3% nothing
Solana Card up to 15% a six figure SOL stake held

So the honest way to describe the card is a 2-3% cashback card with a marketing number attached to a tier priced for people who would not care about 2-3% either way. If you are staking six figures of SOL to earn cashback on a laptop, the cashback is not the reason you are doing it.

I am not saying it is a bad card. 0% FX and no monthly fee stand on their own. I am saying the headline is doing work the product does not do, and quoting it back at someone whose funds are in review is a strange moment to pick.

Sent the deposit txids this morning like you said - I had sent a bank statement first, which was pointless. Thanks.

Note what you just did, because it is the part people skip past.

You handed a company a passport, a selfie, a wallet address and its full transaction history, in order to keep spending money you already owned. Whatever comes out of the review, that bundle now exists, it is joined up, and it does not get un-joined.

That is not an argument against the card. Full KYC cards do things no-KYC cards cannot and the trade is sometimes right. It is an argument for deciding in advance which identity, which wallet and which chain you are willing to link to a spend account, and never letting the answer be decided for you by a banner at eleven on a Sunday night.

Seconded, and the same applies on the other side of it; whatever they release, the staking rewards and the cashback are income in most places whether or not the card is working. Worth keeping the statements you can still download.
