Third suspension in five months — which offshore host actually absorbs a complaint?

Third suspension in five months and I am done arguing with an abuse desk that clearly has nobody behind it.

Setup is nothing exotic. About forty static landers on one box, one small redirect node in front, adult-tube traffic. In 2014 I ran the identical shape of thing on a five dollar Dutch VPS and the worst anyone ever sent me was a form letter you could file and forget. Now every complaint arrives forwarded with a 24 hour clock attached and the third one is automatic termination regardless of whether the complaint was about anything I did.

I have looked at AbeloHost because everyone points there, but what I want is somebody who has actually had a complaint land and watched what the host did with it afterwards. That is the only part I care about. Uptime is fine everywhere. The question is who folds.

AbeloHost is fine but you must buy Offshore tier. Standard tier forward the complaint exactly same as host you have now.

Many people buy cheap plan then come here and say host is not bulletproof. Is plan that is not bulletproof, not host.

Whoever you pick, the migration is the easy part. IME the failure mode is DNS.

When a host null-routes you instead of terminating you, the box is up, the origin is unreachable, and your monitoring reports green because you are checking the edge and the edge is happily serving cache. You find out when the cache expires.

Check the origin from a box in a different AS, and fail over on the origin rather than at the edge:

#!/bin/sh
# origin-watch — cron this from somewhere unrelated to both origins
set -eu
for origin in "$ORIGIN_A" "$ORIGIN_B"; do
  if ! nc -z -w3 "$origin" 443; then
    logger -t origin-watch "$origin unreachable"
    /usr/local/bin/dns-failover "$origin"
  fi
done

Two boxes in two jurisdictions. The second one costs you about five euros a month and does nothing at all until the day it is the only thing working.

Were the three complaints DMCA or abuse? A host that ignores DMCA will still pull you for a network abuse report, and most people saying bulletproof only mean the first one.

Two DMCA, one abuse. The abuse one was a scraper hitting my box, reported by the operator of the site whose referrer header they misread. Which is more or less my point about how much of this is machines now — in 2014 a human read the complaint before it went out, and that human could be reasoned with.

Everyone is answering the hosting question. The problem is upstream of the host.

You are moving forty landers and keeping the same wallet, the same contact address, and presumably the same account in front of them. The host you are leaving already has your payment history and your complete origin list, and they keep both. Pay the new host from the same wallet and you have linked the old estate to the new one in about four clicks, from public data, by anybody — not only the abuse desk you just annoyed.

New host, new contact, funded from coins that never sat in the wallet that paid the old one. Cash by mail exists for exactly this and people skip it because it feels theatrical.

Your threat model is not "will they take a site down". They will. It is "when one goes, does it cost me the other thirty-nine".

On the actual question: FlokiNET is what I would pick for this shape of thing. Two complaints have landed on a Finland box of mine there and I watched them do precisely nothing with either one.

The qualification matters though, because people read "bulletproof" as "untouchable". Their policy is ignore routine complaints, not ignore everything. A court order issued in Iceland, Finland or Romania against the box sitting in that country still lands, and at that point you find out which of the three you chose and how much you knew about its legal system. Entry is around €5.50 a month, so you are not paying a premium for immunity — you are paying for a host that does not forward you a form letter with a clock on it. That is a smaller product than the marketing suggests and it is also exactly the product you asked for.

If you want the other end of the scale, PRQ has been absorbing this since before most of us started and prices accordingly, from about €30.

Not BPServ. I put small test thing there, was suspended after abuse report. Bulletproof only in the marketing.

Migrated over the last fortnight. Split across two jurisdictions as suggested, new wallet, new contact.

The wallet point is the one I would not have arrived at on my own, which is irritating because it is obvious the moment somebody says it. I have been paying for infrastructure out of one address since roughly 2019 and had genuinely never thought of that as a linkage problem.

One complaint landed on the Finland box on the 9th. Nothing happened. That is the entire review.

Marking it solved. Ask me again in a year when it is not.
