My friend, i have doubt if this is normal or if is a red flag.

I am with this network since October, always net30, always paid maybe two days late but paid. Today i open the dashboard to check my June and the payment terms box says net60. Nobody send me an email. Nothing in the news section. The same manager is still there and he is online, i can see the green dot.

So my June money that i expect on the 30th of July is now the 30th of August. Actually this is the same as a loan i did not agree to give.

Is this something networks do normally and i am overreacting? Or is this the thing people mean when they say get out early.

It's a thing networks do and it usually means one of two things, and they look identical from outside.

Either an advertiser has pushed them out to net60 and they're passing it down the chain rather than funding the gap themselves, or they're short and they're funding something else with your money for thirty days. The first is annoying and survivable. The second is the last month you get paid.

The tell is who it applied to. If your terms moved and everyone else's on that same advertiser moved, it's the first. If it moved for you and not for the person next to you running a different vertical, it's the second, because a network that's short does it selectively to whoever complains least.

Screenshot every page of the dashboard, not only the terms box.

Two separate points, and I appreciate that only one of them will interest anyone here.

The first is that a unilateral change to payment terms mid-relationship is generally unenforceable against work already delivered; June's conversions were run under net30 and the terms in force when the work was done are the terms that apply. Whether you can practically make them honour that is a different question entirely, but it is worth saying it in the ticket, in those words, because it changes how the ticket gets routed.

The second is that you should be recording the receivable at the date it was earned rather than the date it lands. If this network does fold you will want that number to have existed somewhere before it vanished.

Ask the manager directly and ask it in writing, not on a call. "Does net60 apply to conversions already run in June, or only from July?" That one question separates the two scenarios MetricsOverMagic described better than anything else you can do.

In the meantime, cap your daily spend on that network to something you can afford to never see again. Not zero — you don't want to look like you're leaving while they still owe you — but not the number you were running last week either.

I ask exactly this in the ticket. Answer come in six hours and is very careful writing, he say the new terms are "effective for the current cycle", which means June, which means yes.

I cut spend to maybe one third. Not zero like you say.
