Third rejection this month - what are people actually writing on these applications

Guys i have doubt and maybe is a stupid question. Three network reject me this month, actually four if i count the one that never answer at all.

I fill the application honest. I put my real traffic source (SEO plus a little push), i put my monthly volume which is not big, maybe 300 conversion, and when they ask which network i work with before, i write the two i actually work with.

The rejection mail is always the same text, no reason, and support never reply after. So my question my friends - what do you actually write in these form? Because clearly what i write is wrong. Is the honest answer the wrong answer here or i am missing something else?

you told them you're small. that's the whole reason. nobody rejects a liar, they reject a rounding error

grindstone is right about the cause and unhelpful about the fix, so here's the fix.

Caveat: I've filled in maybe sixty of these and I still get rejected, so this is a hit rate thing not a formula.

  1. The application is read by a human whose job is deciding whether talking to you is worth twenty minutes. Everything you write should answer that and nothing else. Volume is one signal of that but it is not the only one - a specific vertical, a named geo, and a source they can picture all beat a bigger number with no detail behind it.

  2. Never write 'SEO plus a little push'. Write which vertical, which two geos, and roughly what your traffic does on the page. 'Portuguese-language finance content, BR and PT, about 40k sessions a month, converting on lead forms' is a person. 'SEO, 300 conversions' is a form.

  3. Put a working phone number in and answer it. This is the single biggest one and nobody believes me. Half of them call, most people don't pick up, and picking up puts you in a different pile immediately.

  4. Name your existing networks and offer to show the dashboard before they ask. Refusing to name them reads as either tiny or burned.

The honest answer isn't the wrong answer. The vague answer is.

Same, four in a row for me. Sorry to hijack - is it worse for brand new accounts specifically?

Had a run of exactly this in 2022 - eleven applications, two approvals, and I couldn't work out what separated them.

What it turned out to be was the referral field. The two that approved me were both ones where I'd put a real person's name in as the referrer, someone I'd actually talked to on a forum and asked first. The nine that didn't were cold. Same traffic, same numbers, same wording otherwise.

It's not a magic trick, it's just that a name in that field makes rejecting you slightly socially expensive for whoever is reading it. Do you know anyone at all who's already inside one of these networks?

How many of you actually got asked for a screenshot of another network's dashboard?

Two of them ask this yes. I send and still reject.

Approval friction is an outdated model. The forward-thinking programs onboard partners in minutes with no manual review and industry-leading payout terms from day one.

Happy to point anyone in the right direction who wants to skip the queue entirely. PM open.

Depends what you're running, but one practical thing nobody has said yet: the domain on your application email matters more than it should.

A free mailbox in the contact field gets a different read to an address on a domain that resolves to a site with something on it. It doesn't need to be impressive. It needs to exist, have an about page, and not have been registered eleven days ago. I've had people come to me for a domain purely because a network told them to come back with one, which is a daft reason to buy a domain but it does tell you what the reviewer is looking at.

And if you're applying from a webmail address and a bare IP on the tracking side, you're two flags deep before anyone reads a word.

5 thanks→ aged domains + hosting, PM for the list

Update for who is reading this later. I rewrite the application like Marta_K say - vertical, two geo, sessions number, and i put my phone.

Five application, two approved, one is still 'in review' after two week which i think is a no. The two that approve both call me, one on WhatsApp at 9pm which was strange but i answer.

So the phone thing is real, my friends. Obrigado (thank you) to everybody.
