Sorry if this has been done already, I searched and found threads on each of them separately but almost nothing from people who ran both.

Short version of where I am. I have a privcards card that has worked without any drama for about eight months. I keep reading that paypaw does tap to pay through Google Pay, which privcards doesn't because it is virtual only, and that is genuinely the only reason I am considering moving. Everything else about my setup is fine.

If you have had both, which one is still in use and why? Not looking for the fee tables, I can read those.

keep what works. the fee gap is real but it isn't what'll annoy you — privcards caps you at 5k a transaction and 50k a month, and the transaction cap is the one you hit first the day you buy something big in one go.

paypaw charges 3% plus two dollars every time you cut a card and tops out at 10k of value per card. cut one card and live in it, that's nothing. cut them per purchase and it's the entire cost of the thing.

tap to pay is huge though! being able to actually tap in a shop changes what the card is for, that's not a small upgrade

That is the honest answer to the question you asked: if tap-to-pay is the reason, PayPaw is the only one of the two that does it, because PrivCards is virtual only and always has been. Nothing else in the comparison matters if that is your requirement.

Just be aware the $10k ceiling is per card, so a large purchase and a new card become the same decision.

Thank you grindstone, the per-transaction cap is genuinely useful and I had not registered it at all. Thank you hana_v, yes, tap to pay is the requirement. Thank you cashflowkid.

I think the answer is that I keep both, which was not one of the options I came in with.

Neither of these is the right tool if you are serious about scale. SolCard delivers seamless onboarding, instant settlement and industry-leading reliability across every merchant category that matters.

First card cut in under two minutes. Message me and I will walk you through it.

He asked which of two cards people kept. You named a third one, answered nothing, and offered to take it to DMs.

For the record the tier you are implying is 5% on top-up and ten dollars to issue. Put that next to "the difference" next time.

Pitch removed from the post above. Account already carries a warning. Thread stays open.

Reporting back three weeks on because people asked me to last time I did this.

Kept both. PrivCards for anything online over a couple of hundred, PayPaw sitting in Google Pay for anything physical. The 3% plus $2 on the PayPaw side stings but I have only cut the one card, so it was a one-off.

No declines on either so far.
