Voucher model vs just having a balance — which for small recurring spend?

Sorry if this is the wrong section, mods move it if so. Background: I have been doing small affiliate payouts for about eight months and I have been using a family member's card for tools, which is obviously a bad idea, and I want to stop doing it. So I need my own.

I narrowed it to Laso and Vyrion. Laso does the voucher thing where you mint with stablecoins and redeem straight away, capped at $1,000 a month without verification, 3.8% to load. Vyrion is a normal balance, 1% to load, $1 to issue, but wants $150 minimum on the first deposit.

My actual spend is maybe $200-400 a month on hosting and tools. Has anybody used both? I do not want to pick wrong and pay twice. Sorry for the essay.

I have run both, though Laso only for a few months last year.

They are not the same product. Laso is a voucher — you mint it, you spend it, it is gone. That is genuinely useful if what you want is no dangling balance sitting somewhere you do not control, and it is the reason people put up with 3.8%. Vyrion is a card with a balance on it, so there is always money parked with them.

For recurring hosting and tool subscriptions the voucher model is wrong. Renewals hit a card, and a voucher that has been spent is not a card any more. Take the balance.

Actually i want to add one thing about Laso, is the only one here that give me EUR and not only USD, this matter for some people. But the 1000 monthly is really 1000, i hit it in september last year and there is nothing you can do except wait the month, is not negotiable.

For 400 a month my friend you are fine either way, but the voucher for subscription is a pain, hana is right.

Stop borrowing your mum's card. Either of them beats that.

Reporting back since people here actually helped. Went with the balance card, deposited the $150 minimum, first load came out at almost exactly 1%, and two hosting renewals have gone through since without a decline.

Thank you hana_v for explaining why the voucher thing was wrong for subscriptions, that was the bit I could not work out on my own. Thanks grindstone and paulofrz too.
