privcards locked my card and the seed login just spins — three weeks of this now

Sorry if this is the wrong section, I looked at the newbie board first but this seemed more specific.

Some background so it makes sense. I have been using PrivCards since about February, mostly small stuff, subscriptions and a couple of ad top-ups, never more than a few hundred on it at a time. Never had a problem, top-ups landed, the two percent came off exactly like the site says. Genuinely the smoothest thing I have used since I started.

On Friday a payment declined. Then everything declined. I went to log back in with the seed phrase and the page just spins — not an error, not a wrong-phrase message, it sits there with the loading state forever. Tried three times, waited, tried again Saturday, same.

There is about four hundred and ten dollars on the card. Has anyone had the login spin like this and get back in? Thanks in advance to anyone who answers, I know this gets asked a lot.

4 thanks

a spinning seed login is their frontend, not a lock. try a different browser before you call it a freeze

When was the last successful spend, and was it a new merchant?

Last successful one was Friday morning, an ad platform I have paid four or five times before. Nothing new, same amount range as always.

The decline right after it was the same merchant, retrying the same charge. So it went from working to not working inside about two hours with nothing changing on my end.

Two separate things are probably happening and it helps to keep them apart.

The login spinner is a frontend problem, and grindstone is right that it is worth ruling out first — different browser, no extensions, and give it a full minute rather than three tries in a row, because the derivation step is slow and people give up on it. If it loads anywhere it is not a lock.

The declines are the other thing. On a card with no email and no account there is no support ladder to escalate to, which is the actual cost of the no-KYC model and it only shows up on the day something breaks. Check what your last few charges were against the five thousand per-transaction ceiling and the fifty thousand monthly one; you are nowhere near either at four hundred, so that is not it, but rule it out anyway.

Ad platform charges are the most common trigger I see for a card going quiet. They retry, sometimes several times, and a card that looks fine to you can be sitting under a pile of failed authorisation attempts.

Nobody asked about your card.

You do not have an account. You have a key. That distinction decides what this is.

If the phrase derives correctly somewhere else, nothing has been taken from you and you are looking at a service outage on their side. If it derives and shows an empty or restricted card, that is a decision someone made about the card object, not about you, and there is no one to appeal it to.

Either way, stop retrying the login from the same session. You are generating a pattern and you have nothing to gain from it.

Tried a clean browser this morning, no extensions, waited it out properly. It took about fifty seconds and then it loaded, so the spinner was exactly what you said.

Card is there. Balance shows four hundred and ten. Status says active. And it still declines everything.

so it's not a freeze. it's a card that says active and isn't

Check your last top-up on chain before you assume the balance display is real. Explorer, deposit address, confirmations.

A displayed balance is a number in their database. An on-chain credit is a fact.

Checked, it confirmed. 41 confirmations, USDT on Polygon.

Then it credited. Your problem is the card object, not the balance.

Any of those ad charges get retried after the first decline?
